The Aegis Dynamics Vanguard Warden is the base version of the Vanguard series. The Warden is suited for dogfighting and exploration. It is the only variant with long term life support and beds – escaping in this will give a greatly improved chance of being recovered without the cost of a ‘life’. The escape pod of the other variants will only give slightly improved chance over standard ejection.
A hard-charging bulldog of a fighter which features extensive forward-mounted weaponry designed to tear through the shields and armor of other spacecraft. So-named because their multiple-jump range allows them to form the vanguard of any military expedition, Vanguards have seen extensive service against the Vanduul.
The original contract called for a ship capable of surviving a complete hull breach and up to a 33% structural loss… and time and time again, Aegis’ Vanguard has gone well beyond the letter of the law in bringing crews home! With heavy-hitting forward weapons, an enhanced weapons suite and the most advanced two-person escape pod currently available, the Vanguard Warden is a ship designed to take a beating and come out on top.
