Aurora is an affordable ship produced by Roberts Space Industries. This single-seater designed in 2943 is liked for its versatility as it can be modified to serve a wide range of purposes. The manufacturer is well aware of this and offers the Aurora in five different models, each intended for a specific use.

Most pilots move up from an Aurora as quickly as their credit accounts allow… but a select few regard flying this venerable spacecraft as a badge of honor!^[1]

All models sport a nanocarbon body and the proprietary IDAssess software for the sensors.

Essential Edit

The Aurora Essential is the cheapest model. It has got only a TR2 engine, unlike the other models. Its basic shield and no pre-installed equipment in the hardpoints make it an affordable ship for basic exploration. The upgrade capacity of 4 make it an easily modifiable ship matched only by the most expensive deluxe Aurora model (LX) with regards to modifiability.

Marque Edit

This is the more combat-ready version of the Aurora. The Marque comes equipped with two M3A laser cannons enhanced with a high quality gun cooling system. It has a reasonably strong TR3 engine for its low weight. It can be used for interdiction.

Clipper Edit

The Clipper model is predestined for light mercantile and transport use. It has a slightly weaker and smaller engine than the other models but has enough room for an extra bulk cargo pod which doubles the cargo capacity to 10 t. The Clipper can be optionally upgraded with a jump scanner for easier navigation during long cargo hauls.

Legionnaire Edit

This is a more heavily-armed version of the Aurora dedicated to combat duties. It is used by milita forces and as a light patrol craft. The Legionnaire is the heaviest of all Aurora models. It uses a very powerful engine with a level 2 overdrive, a good shield, and is pre-equipped with weapons better than the Marque model.

LX Edit

This is the deluxe version of the Aurora. It has powerful engines with a level 1 overdrive, a good shield, offensive weapons, and a high upgrade capacity which make up for its high price. The LX can be easily modified to individual needs. It is often used for exploration and light mercantile.
