Official DescriptionEdit

The new Mustang spacecraft line is preparing to go into mass production [and] is priced to compete with Roberts Space Industries’ Aurora. Using newly-developed construction techniques and ultralight material alloys sometimes considered unsafe, the Mustang pushes power ratios to the limit. The result is a sleek, stylish spacecraft that weighs less than the Aurora and has more options for engines and thrusters… at the expense of some stability, weapons hardpoints and cargo capacity.

The team at Consolidated Outland has decided to take Roberts Space Industries head on in 2944 by premiering the Mustang personal spacecraft. After finding initial success with spacecraft conversion kits, Outland is now ready to run with the big boys: the new Mustang spacecraft line is preparing to go into mass production is [and] priced to compete with Roberts Space Industries’ Aurora.

The Mustang isn't planned as a replacement for the Aurora, it’s another option that may better suit some play-styles. Want a reliable personal starship? Go with the Aurora. Want something with a little more power, at the expense of cargo? Try the Mustang![6]

Mustang VariantsEdit

There are currently five Mustang variants in production.[7]

Mustang AlphaEdit

The Mustang Alpha is the base model Mustang.[8]

Mustang BetaEdit

The Mustang Beta is the scouting model of the Mustang designed for long range missions. Its unique features include a living compartment with a kitchen, bed, bathroom, closet and storage compartment.[8]

Mustang DeltaEdit

The Mustang Delta is the military model, armed with 36 FFAR rockets and an infrared adaptive camouflage invisibility cloak armor.[8][9]

Mustang Gamma Edit

The Mustang Gamma is the high speed racing variant.[10]

Mustang Omega Edit

The Mustang Omega is a dedicated racing model that was built using ultralight material alloys, with an additional intake, power plant and a third engine thruster. Sometimes considered unsafe, the Omega pushes power ratios to the limit; the result is a sleek, stylish spacecraft. It weighs less than the Aurora and has more options for engines and thrusters… at the expense of some stability, weapons hardpoints and cargo capacity.[8]

Developer UpdatesEdit

Aurora with Lifetime Insurance sidegrade updateEdit

You will be able to 'sidegrade' any Aurora-with-LTI into a Mustang-with-LTI. No other ships will be able to make this swap.

–Ben Lesnick on February 21, 2014[11]

Missile number changeEdit

The Delta variant in the Mustang brochure no longer includes the 6 wing-mounted, air-to-air missiles from the concept renders.[8][12]
